INGREDIENTS
BEANS -200 GMS
TOOR DHAL -1 CUP
DRY RED CHILLIES -7
ASAFOETIDA POWDER -4 PINCHES
TURMERIC POWDER -1/4 TEASPOON
MUSTARD SEEDS -1/4 TEASPOON
OIL - 2 TABLESPOONS
SALT TO TASTE
METHOD
1.SOAK THE TOOR DHAL IN WATER FOR 1 HOUR.
2.DRAIN.
3.GRIND THE DHAL ,RED CHILLIES ,ASAFOETIDA AND SALT TO A GRAING MIXTURE WITHOUT ADDING WATER.
4.SPREAD THIS MIXTURE IN AN IDLI PLATE .STEAM TILL DONE.
5.CHOP THE BEANS FINELY. BOIL WITH SALT.COOK TILL DONE.
6.HEAT OIL IN A KADAI. SPLUTTER THE MUSTARD SEEDS.
7.ADD THE BEANS AND THE CRUMBLED,STEAMED DHAL AND TURMERIC.
8.STIR WELL AND COOK FOR 3 MINUTES OR TILL DONE.
# THIS IS A TRADITIONAL SOUTH INDIAN VEGETABLE PREPARATION.
#YOU CAN SUBSTITUTE BEANS WITH PLAINTAIN FLOWERS,STRING BEANS,CABBAGE ETC.
#THIS IS A PROTIEN LADEN VEGETABLE SIDE DISH WHICH IS EATEN WITH RICE,SAMBAR,RASAM ETC.
# YOU CAN ADD SOME CHANNA DHAL TO THE TOOR DHAL AND PREPARE THIS DISH.
